Form and Extent of the Graduates’ Involvement at the University
§ 1. Within its sphere of activities, the University of Vienna also has the task of maintaining contacts with graduates (section 3, sub-para. 10 of the 2002 Universities Act).
§ 2. Upon graduation, the graduates of the University of Vienna are invited to comment on the study conditions and contents of the degree programmes they have chosen on the basis of their own experience and to submit suggestions for improvement which should serve as information for the University of Vienna and the individual directors of studies.
§ 3. The graduates of the University of Vienna who are already employed are invited to report from their point of view on the study conditions and contents of the degree programmes they have chosen; they also have the opportunity to make career-oriented suggestions for improvement for the future specification of the respective contents of the degree programmes.
§ 4. The collegial body concerned with study-related matters with decision-making powers in accordance with section 25, para. 1, sub-para. 10 of the 2002 Universities Act (Curriculum Committee) set up by the Senate in accordance with section 25, para. 8, sub-para. 3 of the 2002 Universities Act takes into account the results of the surveys carried out in accordance with sections 2 and 3 when issuing new curricula and for all changes to curricula which were in force on 1 October 2003.
§ 5. Even after leaving the University, graduates of the University of Vienna continue to be kept updated – especially via the Internet – about the current life of the University of Vienna.
§ 6. The graduates of the University of Vienna are invited to the events for students and employees which may also be of interest to the graduates from a thematic point of view and be involved in these events. The University of Vienna may also make use of external institutions to fulfil these tasks.
§ 7. Pursuant to section 3, sub-para. 5 of the 2002 Universities Act, the University of Vienna fulfils the task of continuing education and training within its sphere of activities, in particular of its graduates. The University of Vienna is responsible for expanding and developing postgraduate continuing education and training and for providing related communications and information to its graduates.
